When Jesus Christ walked on the earth, He demonstrated the power of the kingdom of God. Demons were cast out and the sick were healed. He said that if He, by the finger of God, cast out the evil spirits, then the kingdom of God had come.
Matthew 12:28 – But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
Later, our Lord died for our sin and broke Satan’s power over death, hell, powers of darkness, sicknesses and diseases. Therefore the Apostle Paul says that the preaching of the cross, which means all that Christ did for us as He redeemed us, is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:18 – For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
In this letter, through the chapters 1 to 4, Apostle Paul teaches that the kingdom of God is not just words but power.
1 Corinthians 4:20 – For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
This kingdom power is not only to make us godly saints but this power also brings forth signs, wonders and miracles, so men will believe. Our Lord Jesus Himself said that if you don’t believe me because of My words, then believe me because I am doing the signs, wonders and miracles as the Messiah.
John 10:38 But if I do, though you believe me not, believe the works; that ye may know and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in Him.
Therefore the Apostle Paul says that his preaching of our Lord and Saviour and the kingdom of God was done in demonstration of the Spirit and of power. He says that our faith should not just be in a traditional mindset but by encountering God through the power of God.
1 Corinthians 2:4,5 – And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
Through these power encounters, people will become believers and the fruit of this will be a deep intimate relationship with God.
We, who are called into this End Time Army of the Lord, have to enter these realms and glories of the kingdom of God, as well as the King and Father of glory ourselves. As we grow into it, then we have to go into all the world and demonstrate this kingdom of power so men will see and believe. Amen.
Mark 16:15,17 – And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues.
